August is knocking on our collective doors right now, which means it’s time to start planning your movie marathons! Several new Netflix movies are coming to the streaming service next month, including a feature film starring Mark Wahlberg and Kevin Hart, a musical and more.
July was a relatively quiet month for Netflix movies beyond The gray man with Persuasion failing to make a loud noise. But until August, we can’t wait to see Jamie Foxx hunt vampires in Day shift or see Lili Reinhart star in a sweet drama.

Look! Jamie Foxx, Snoop Dogg and Dave Franco all star in this action-packed vampire thriller that hits Netflix on August 12. Foxx plays a hardworking blue-collar father who strives to provide a good life for his family. He poses as the owner of a swimming pool cleaning business, when in reality he hunts and kills vampires for a living.
The Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie
Skip! Don’t hate me for saying jump, I swear I don’t hate ninja turtles! If you’re a fan of those movies or have kids, you’ll definitely want to watch this one, but those who aren’t very familiar or nostalgic for these pizza-loving reptiles can skip this one.
Here’s the Netflix logline: “Teenage Turtles and their mystical ninja powers are put to the ultimate test when ruthless creatures from another universe seek to unleash extreme mayhem,” premiering August 5!
13: The Musical
Look! If you like musicals, then 13: The Musical should definitely be on your radar. The new film stars Josh Peck, Rhea Perlman and Debra Messing in a heartwarming story about a 12-year-old who navigates his parents’ divorce while trying to throw the best bar mitzvah ever.
The film is based on the popular Broadway musical, which is notable for featuring the professional debuts of Ariana Grande and Elizabeth Gillies, who later co-starred in Nickelodeon. Victorious. The film debuts on August 12.

Skip! The third and final film in the erotic thriller trilogy debuts August 19. These movies are mostly considered a joke by half of the internet, but if you’re eager to know how the story between Massimo and Laura finally ends, then make sure you don’t miss the conclusion. Will Laura end up with Massimo or Nacho?
Skip! Those who love Mark Wahlberg and/or Kevin Hart movies will surely enjoy watching a buddy comedy starring the two, but if you’re not a fan, I don’t think this movie will suddenly change. notice. Hart and Wahlberg play a pair of friends who reconnect over a quiet weekend when the kids are away for a wild weekend that nearly turns their lives upside down. me time premieres August 26.
