Does Kevin Spacey still play? Are there any upcoming movies?

Kevin Spacey recently won a court victory in the first alleged sexual assault case brought against him to court. A jury finds the actor should not be held responsible for sexually assaulting Anthony Rapp when he was a teenager. The ‘Star Trek: Discovery’ actor brought the accusation against the A-list actor in 2017 and since then a dozen other men have come forward with similar complaints. He faces another trial in the UK in June.

The resulting scandal prompted Netflix to remove Spacey from “House of Cards” and sparked a lawsuit that resulted in the actor paying the production company $31 million. It also caused the producers of other projects he was to appear in to rethink, more recently, the makers of ‘1242: Gateway to the West’ announced that he will no longer be directing the film.

However, the controversy surrounding Spacey has not scuttled all job opportunities for the actor. He will appear in a few upcoming movies, one coming out later this year and another early next year.

What movies will Kevin Spacey appear in?

Scheduled to release before the end of 2022, Spacey will star in ‘The Man Who Drew God’. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Italian screenwriter and director Louis Nero said: “In Italy we don’t know the details of everything, so we don’t talk about what we don’t know. I can’t talk about these things. I just know that Kevin is a great actor. That was my concern, and no more than that.

The film, set in the 1950s, is based on a true story about the rise and fall of a blind man named Emanuele who has the gift of making portraits faithful to reality by hearing the sound of their voice.

Currently in post-production with a release date set for sometime in January 2023, “Peter Five Eight” has the House of Cards alum in mind. The producers lamented the negative press around the actor when he had just returned to work but said “That’s also to be expected.

Despite his ongoing trial in the UK, they have made their support for the actor known. “There are those who wish he didn’t play, but they outnumber the fans around the world who are waiting for an artist they have loved for decades to return to the screen,” they told Variety.

“Production has no knowledge of or comment on the various swirling allegations, and believe that it is up to the courts to determine the validity if it exists. ‘Peter Five Eight’ is a movie for fans who care more about art than scandal,” the producers added.

Spacey stars as Peter, a charismatic yet mysterious man in black who shows up in a mountainside town, sent there on a mission at the request of his dark boss.
