What’s next for Josephine Langford? The actress is continuing her Hollywood career now that the After the movies are over.
“I’m afraid of commitment. So I’m not drawn to TV – I’m drawn to film,” the Australian native said. WWD in November 2021. “I think that’s part of why I became an actor.”
While she had a few roles early in her career, playing Tessa Young in the After candor is what put Josephine’s name on the map. “I think it has nothing to do with me,” Josephine said WWD on the success of films. “I think it has to do with the books. The love of the characters in this story really comes from what’s set up in the books. And so, we’re really lucky that he’s been followed in the movies.
Since she finished playing the role of Tessa, more After movies have been announced – a prequel and a fourth sequel, which will take place years after the first four movies. But does Joséphine plan to resume her role in these next films?
“I would want to come back if it was important, and it made sense,” she explained to StyleCaster in September 2021. “I am not a fan of extending your welcome. It can sometimes put the brakes on a good thing if you’re making something and it’s canon, and there’s no point in it. I would be very, very, very happy to come back under the right circumstances and if it made sense.
But that being said, the actress has plenty of projects on the horizon. While it’s unclear if she’ll ever return to the role that made her a household name, the Moxie the actress shared the biggest lessons that have come from her time on the After Position.
“I learned a lot about what to do and what not to do. I’ve never played the lead role in a movie before that,” Josephine also said. StyleCaster. “There are so many little things that nobody teaches you, and nobody can teach you how sets work and all that intricate behind-the-scenes stuff. Some of these lessons are invaluable. I also grew up with these films. It taught me a lot and I’m very grateful.
