Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Release date: November 11 (in theaters)

The description: Queen Ramonda, Shuri, M’Baku, Okoye, and the Dora Milaje fight to protect their nation from intervening world powers in the wake of King T’Challa’s death. As the Wakandans strive to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must unite with Nakia and Everett Ross to forge a new path for their beloved kingdom.

Why you’ll love it: This one is a no-brainer given the huge success of 2018 Black Panther. While the loss of star Chadwick Boseman leaves big shoes to fill, I’m sure Wakanda’s female bosses have a lot in store for us.

Release date: November 18 (Apple TV+)

You can also catch this movie when it’s limited theatrical release starting November 11th.

The description: A musical version of Charles Dickens’ story of a miserly misanthrope who embarked on a magical journey.

Why you’ll love it: Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds in a movie?!? There is nothing to add. These two actors never disappoint, and I’m sure they’ll bring it musically after this viral TikTok performance. Plus, another Will Ferrell Christmas movie? Yes please!

Release date: November 18 (Disney+)

The description: Years after her happily ever after, Giselle, Robert and Morgan move to a new community, and magical mishaps lead to Andalasia and the real world being thrown off balance.

Why you’ll love it: If you’re like me and grew up obsessed with Disney Princesses, then Delighted Giselle was no exception. Now, 15 years later, it’s time to bask in that childhood nostalgia and watch Disillusioned. Lots of Disney sequels fail, but I have high hopes for this one after its epic trailer.

Avatar: The Way of the Water

Release date: December 16 (in theaters)

The description: Jake Sully and Ney’tiri have formed a family, and do everything to stay together. However, they must leave their home and explore the regions of Pandora. When an ancient threat resurfaces, Jake must wage an uphill war against the humans.

Why you’ll love it: As a child, I was legitimately afraid of Avatar, and didn’t quite grasp the appeal of the sci-fi/action film. But since it turned out to be the highest-grossing movie of all time, I had to admit that the visual effects were phenomenal. It’s been 10 years now, and the franchise is back for a second film. With all the advancements in technology over the past decade, I’m excited to see how this film stacks up. I guess that’s just my inner nerd talking. Seriously, there’s been an extremely high bar for this sequel, and there’s a good chance it will be.

Glass onion: a mystery at loggerheads

Release date: December 23 (Netflix)

You can also catch this movie when it’s limited theatrical release from November 23-29.

The description: Tech billionaire Miles Bron invites his friends for a getaway to his private Greek island. When someone is found dead, detective Benoit Blanc is in charge of the case.

Why you’ll love it: The first Knives Out film came from a star-studded cast, and its sequel is no exception. Notable cast members include Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., and Kate Hudson, among others. This movie is sure to bring lots of drama and thrill.
